I just purchased a pair of the MC rock sliders today (can't beat $99 bucks :eyebrow: )for my 85 4runner and was wondering if I should put a 1-2 inch body lift on to avoid mounting problems.  I am currently running 33's on a 4 inch suspension lift, but plan to go up to 37's someday so I could use the lift, but if I could avoid a body lift I would.  Can the MC rock sliders be mounted without cutting into the sheet metal on just a suspension lift?

Ramrod

don't do a body lift.  they can be mounted fine and if you were smart you would notch out that little pinchweld  so you can mount them a little higher.  There is no reason to be scared to do it because nobody will ever see it. plus u can probably use the 4" lift for the 37"s

Sounds good, I was hoping they would install w/o the body lift.  Also what angle seems to work best for the sliders?

Ramrod

put them however you like them. Just don't angle them so much you cant open your door.

The pics on the website look like they are mounted at about 20 degrees, but it would seem like mounting them as high as possible would be best.....of course while your door still functions properly.  Thanks for the input.

FYI:   I've got a 4" lift on 37" MTRs and rock sliders no body lift and no rubbing looks and works great.
