Sheesh, you just had to bring him into this.
Yeah, as we've established previously....I'm a good girl
good girls make the best ones,,once out of there shell there freaky like that..there like loaded guns waiting to be shot off... yea,,,one day we will be posting on this board wondering where all the good girls went..
Well, if the ideal of excluding the lesser equipped (stock or otherwise) is accepted... there is no fundamental difference between that and a Sierra CLub ideal of exclusion. If we cannot embrace the 4wheel users as a whole. We are not fighting for access. I cannot be that shortsighted
So, just wondering what everyone does to prevent their food and such from becoming a submarine in the water in the bottom of the cooler. I just finished a 10 day camping trip, and it seemed that everything was submerged . Obviously didn't bother the beer much, but the fresh food got a bit soggy . What kinda tricks to people have to prevent this? Anything? We tried the little basket thing, which sort-of works. Zip-lock bags are better than nothing, but what else is there? Do I have to pay $$$ for an electric cooler?Your thoughts?Erik
But then the ice will melt and soggify everything so make sure stuff is zip locked or something
soggify you got that from me huh?
no,the foam rubber acts as extra insulation and slows down the melting process, and you leave the drain plug open to let out what ice does melt so there is no water in the cooler to make your food soggy. i guarantee that after 4 days of camping i still have ice left and dry food
poo
Or, ya'll can do what my mother just did today Our fridge went out so she turned it into an "ice chest".... packed it with sodas and put a bucket of ice on the bottom shelf We'll see what that does...... um...... Gotta love my mom tho....always the practical one
Put the ice on the top shelf that way it will work better. Heat rises and cold falls. That should be good for about 40* if you don't open it.That's the way an ice box was before we had mechanical refrigeration. don't you remmember having a block of ice delivered every couple days?
No, ya old fart, that was way before my time j/k MrWOh and thanks! I'll pass the news along...heat rises and cold falls
