Toyota 4 seater tube buggy - NorCal
« on: Aug 09, 2005, 08:10:12 PM »
Toyota 4 seater tube buggy
-92’ Toyota frame from the front to just behind the rear output shaft, the rest is 1.75” x .120” tube.
-22RE stock with K&N kit mounted with Hendrix mounts back if I remember like 6” from stock
-W56 HD from Marlin
-Marlin dual cases with Marlin 4.7 gears in the rear case
-FROR crossmember and skidplate
-Marlin rear driveshaft flange for different types of Toyota driveshaft bolt patterns
-Square drive shafts front rear that are nearly the identical lengths and can be swapped.
-Front axle truss from marlin and knuckles rebuilt with new trinion bearings and seals from marlin. FROF ARP studs on the knuckles and hubs. High pinion FJ80 Electric locker 5.29’s with current generation Longfield 27 spline birfs with current generation Pig (polyperformance) chromo inners
-Rear axle v6 axle with v6 Elocker 5.29’s
-Wheels are new 39.5 Iroks on 16x8’s (x 1 trail run only)
-1.5” wheel spacers front rear from marlin
-Suspension: rear is dual triangulated 4 linked with Fox 2.0 16” airshocks (included will be the nitrogen charge kit and polyperformance gauage for accuately charging them as well as a full 1 gal bottle of the Fox shock oil). Lowers are 1.75 x .250 DOM, uppers are .120 wall. Front attachment are heims from TonyK and rear are jonny joints from polyperformance. Front suspension is a traditional leaf sprung system.
-Winch is a Warn 8275-50 with on pull on in and 3/8” synthetic rope from rockstomper and a alum fairlead from allpro
-Seats are comfy competition highbacks from PRP and a wrap-around rear bench with corbeau harnesses f/r from mad4wd
-RCI Fuel cell 10 gallon from summit with rollover breather, feeding the motor is a e2000 fuel pump.
-Only body left is the 92 hood skin held on by sweet hood pins from polyperformance.
-Electical: Optimal Yellow top. Stock unstripped wiring harness so codes can still be pulled and I have the stock cluster to plug into. Kenwood amp what I set up to play directly off of my ipod. Autometer gauges for tach, mechanical oil pressure, mechanical temp (stock electrical sending units still in place on motor).

I’m sure there is other stuff I’ve forgotten but you get the picture. I’ve spent a ton on it. Well it has see the Con x1, Fordyce x1, Wrecking ball x1, holister x2 but that doesn’t REALLY count THAT’S IT!!! It wheels like a dream, even my 6 year old boys have driven it on Fordyce, they seem to pick better lines than dad. On the Con it cuzed soup bowl, kitch, little sluice, big sluice and as many “optionals” as I could do and still tread lightly. On Wrecking ball no problems except hanging the diffs but that was on 35 and now with the 39.5’s…forgetaboutit.

Here is the build up thread:
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=249303

I’m selling it because of other interests and time professionally will likely preclude me from using it as I had anticipated.

Price $10,000 obo no trades considered. Price drop: $7999
This will come with the pink slip and license is currently on non-op and using a California “out of state” orange sticker. Hadnt gotten around to greenstickering it.

If i were to keep it, here would be my to-do list:
-clean up wiring harness, basically its, just ziptied out of the way.
-skin the sides
-shade on top (i was gonna make it out of sail material my dad has but never got around to it)
-cover over the forward part of dash (mainly to hide the wiring).
better mount the computer.
-i have a set of headers i was gonna install so that would require rerouting the steering column cuz its tight in there and as it is now wont fit
rock lights.
-i didnt put hydro assist on but i didnt feel i needed it.
-tuck the exhuast up a little bit more but its not getting beat too bad as of now.

wish list was to link the front but it works fine and is predictable with springs

thanks!

as quoted by Brian at FROR:

"Holy smokin deal Ron!

here's a bump for ya too!

Ill let anyone know I run into on this. For 9k, you can barely afford to get a rig with lockers and decent tires on it. Thats a clean buggy, and a 4 seater if I remember fairly roomy."

:pokinit: people, you heard it here from a VENDOR who makes pimp products and obviously knows his :pokinit:.

just imagine yourself showing off in the box labor day or at the MCR4 in front of a packed crowd while you sit in your new buggy without a worry, knowing your cruzing your way through with the cheers of the spectators

Sale pending

hope you sell it!!!!  That is one of the narrowest, smallest, well thought out,and most well-built 4-seaters I have ever seen.  Not that you wanna hear this one more time, but i'd buy it for 7999 if I had the coin, i've built ALOT of tube buggies, and that's one of my favorites now!!
