i would really like to build my own engine but I just don't have enough time.

The motor is alreay rebuilt I'm going to pick it up on friday and they will even hot tank my old oil pan for free (off a diff motor) and I will drop off my core

And what do you guys think about porting my intake while I have it out and will it even make a diff

If it is a reasonable price I would go for it.  It would open you up for other external modifications later on if you do the internals now.  Get a nice port and polish on them and see...?
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

Have them port match the lower to the upper and then gasket match the lower to the head. Should flow some good air. If its much of a difference you could open up the spot where the TB attaches to the intake. This stuff adds up though and im not sure its worth the gain that you'd get.

It don't take alot of force to bust a engine block apart..my buddies did the same thing at the same rpm..
