I'm running a pro comp 4inch lift in my 85 4runner and I'm not to happy about its performance. It doesn't flex nearly enough and the front passanger side spring is sagging AGAIN...........(iIve already broke a rear main and had a leaf added to both  front springs and it still sags)

The shackles in the front doesn'look right to me..........they're almost 90 degree's with the frame at rest. And when i flex the truck out the springs dont wanna drop to much.(even with no shocks)

I was thinking about taking the rears out and putting them in the front and getting some Chevy's for the rear.
What would you guys do??

I want to know the best and cheapest way to set this thing up?

Rears up front and broncoII's or s-10's in the rear.  Projunk makes total crap suspension for yota's.  As you've learned the hard way..
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

Sounds like you have the extended springs and someone didn't move the mounts. At rest those shackles should angle slightly to the rear, and the springs are bending and breaking because of this too when the shackles bottom out on the frame and the springs have nowhere to go.

is it bad when you unplug the power wire from your stereo and it still plays

my guess is around 3 inches. the weight of your engine make it sit lower

I use some unknown rear lift(4inches) in the front and stock with 2 Cherroke springs in the rear with longer shackles.  There's enough room to clear 36 in IROK's with minor trimming!!!! In total the only thing I spent was time, espeacilly the front. I'm now on my 3rd and hopfully last set!! :-\\  .
I don't need a winch, I wheel a TOYOTA!!!!!!!

Yes take the over lode leaf off and put an add a leaf in the front or else you will W the springs. I'd recommend 63" chevy springs for the rear, there only around $70 for a pair at pick in pull.

no, it makes them weaker if you drill another hole in the spring. Just add a leaf and put them in, the spring will move your axle 2 inches forword from stock.

You want the poor mans suspension that kicks aftermarket suspensions ass?  Go read $300 in the projects section.  Page 9-25ish has all the buildup of my truck.  Its stable offroad which is something you dont get with many aftermarket leaf setups unless you spend $$$$$$.

One hell of a thread it is...do you have x-over, you will need it for the rears up front as the flex will be lots and the axle moving forward will make push-pull nearly unuseable.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

you should check out RockMolester's 1985 4runner on pirate4x4.com. He has the 4" rear pro comp leafs in the front and 63" chevies in the rear. He is clearing 36" iroks and now 37" SSR's. Plus he loves those leafs on the front and he says they flex great too. Check it out. I will try to post a link.

Did you not properly brace the frame???  Or do you need some limiting straps?

Kool, alcans are some nice shite.  I am waiting to see if I am going to have a need for flat pitman arm too...that sky arm is money though.  Don't know why they couldn't jusy make one outa regular steel.
