How do they run so well with oil in the radiator?

i' ve got oil in my radiator and im not really sure what going on, it is a 3.0 with 147k and it's still strong, no smoking, any suggestions would be appreciated.  :sick:

Cracked head and/or bad headgasket.  Makes me happy that I have a 22re....  :greengrin:
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

On the bright side your water pump is well lubricated.

Time for the ol 3oh tear down. Bummer.

Sounds like its time to swap out that 3.0 with something better. :eyebrow:

you got a blown head. check under your oil cap to see if it is white..lilke everyone said OverHual time..if you have the money go with the 96 and up 3.4L 4runner motor..those are better..no point of rebuilding or buying another 3.0L motor because you'll go through the same situation again...89-95 3.0L V6 motor are known to have blown head all the time...

so what you guys are saying is that i have a blown head gasket :reg:  :rivers:  yeah when i take the oil cap off it's so frothy, it makes me want to lick it! thanks guys

Yep, thats sounds like a blown headgasket.  I just went through this recently (actually had a cracked block I think, I would up switching the motor out, and havent torn down the old one yet)  here are the two pages relating to mine

dang BD that was a really helpful but it looked like a mess! but its weird im not really showing any signs other than the funk in my radiator, no smoking, the plugs look good, the gauges always read good, and the exhaust smells delicious~ anybody got anymore suggestion?

do a compression check, see what each cylinder reads

I had this happen on my 85 22re, Marlin suggested it was th head gasket & said to  re- torqe the Head . I did and re- adj. the valves and drove it for another 4 years.  I finally  pulled the head this year and did a valve job. It still smokes a little but runs strong so as long as I pass smog I 'm happy.

yeah, but it's usually different with V6s...most of the time.

well if anyone cares it was my tranny cooler, when i took the hose off rad fluid came of the cooler line so the line inside the radiator was busted, i just bypassed it and got an external cooler,had a shop flush it and they are gonna do it again in like a week. runs like a champ!  :beer:

Sweet!!  :thumbs:  My wife ZX2 did the same thing. Only it was one of the crappy radiators from like China or something cuz it only cost like 65 bucks!!!
