:drooling: That's beautiful! Is there a reason why you went with a gas motor as opposed to the Powerstroke?

i'm in love for you.   thats my dream tow rig.
is it bad when you unplug the power wire from your stereo and it still plays

mudmaster

Don't think $5100 extra for the diesel is worth it.

Yeah diesel costs more than gas but from my observations and what I've heard, the diesel lasts twice as long as gas, but hey, I'm NOT doggin your truck in any way! It's beautiful and still a dream  :beerchug:

They look a little weird that low, but thats because I am used to always seeing them lifted around here. If I ever got one it would be on 35"s like my current tow rig

Sweet truck. Im gonna convice my dad to get one of those. What kind of mileage does it seem to be getting? Hows the power of the V10 too. I rode in one (a 98 or so) and it kinda seemed like a dog...
RIP Kyota.... you are the man

GET IT!!!

Hey Mudmaster, I forgot to tell ya.  I drive a '97 Ford Club Wagon with the V-10 in it.  I tow horsetrailers (with 4 full size horses in it), cars, wood, rocks, whatever can be put in a horse trailer or on a car trailer, I've towed it.  The van has 175k on it, and I guarantee it hasn't been well maintained, and it is still goin strong.  The only problems I can see arising right now is the transmission sometimes slips.  It's a good motor, and with good maintenance should go for a long time!  I dunno why I didn't say nothin sooner :smack:

I've got 4.30 gearing and it goes. I had a 99, this one seems to have more power with the same gearing. Yeah it is a little lower than my last one but I've got an 11 1/2 foot camper so I probably won't lift .....yet. The wheels are some factory 18's though.

315 hp and 425 torque I think it'll do it. Yeah those Dodge's really sucked the gas. Mine ain't great either but I didn't buy it for the mileage that's what this is for.

that is a nice truck, but if i were to spend that much it'd be a dodge cummins with a 6 speed manual.  congrats on the purchase though
in the projects nooga, anything goes

Skinny_Pedal

can you let us know what kind of gas mileage that beast gets. how many cubic inches is that? just curious because my dad 85 3/4ton 2wd chevy 454 gets maybe 9 on a good day, but a solid 8. ttf who posted above in his dad 98 silverado 4x4 can pull like 18mpg. so im curious to what the new fuel injected v10 gets.
Im an OG

mudmaster

Don't know the mpg. It's 415 cubes, 315 hp and 425 torque

Next time I go there I'll give you a call.  Its really not that exciting.  Just mud and what not.  I went through what was supposed to be one of the hardest trails with my bone stock 90 Ex cab on bald tires in the winter and I made it through.  It isn't hard to get around up there.  But its not all that bad I suppose.  Its a lot more fun when there is snow up there and your breaking trail in 3 foot plus deep drifts in a stock SR5 83.

In the picture that my 83 on 40's and my friend with her 90 reg cab.  She went everywhere I did locked and geared. (Sorry to hack the thread)
