I am planning to do cayote lake july 22.  It will be my first time through there and I was wondering if it is possible to pull a trailer through it.  The trailer is a offroad trailer and has clearance.  I have a fj40 so I am pretty short.

Also does anyone know of a website that has info on the trail.

Thanks
Cacy

IIRC, Red opened this weekend and through to Coyote is supposed to open next weekend. You shouldn't have an issue bringing a trailer through. My buddy can manuver a fullsized Chevy through easily. Don't know of a site for the Red mountain trails, what info are you looking for?

Just some info on what to expect and hard spots.  My 40 has 37's with lockers front and rear.  I heard there is really only one hard spot.  Also how hard of a trail is it at night.  I dont know what time we will be coming through.

Theres a couple of spots you can get hung up on. I've seen many rigs make it through though, including an fj40 on 35s riding on the overloads because ther was so much crap piled on. You should be okay.

 Go for it I pull a trailer in every year at least twice w/ a 4runner on 33's and open in the front when I go in I am usually carrying at least 6 peoples stuff so I am loaded.
The only section that gives me trouble is the tree roots up the hill from Red Lake. If the trail is open I will be coming out on the 22nd we may see you.

Sounds good.  I will be up there with 2 other vehicles.  Also is there a place to park vehicles near the trail.  My brother is pulling his up there.

If your brother takes his time, he can tow all the way into Sand Flats which is where all 5 trail heads meet. Otherwise, there is plenty of spots to pull off the road on the way into sand flats.
