1996 Toyota 4runner - 4cyl 5 speed yay or nay?

so I found a 1996  4 runner good shape 4cyl is pretty zippy with a 5 speed seems perfvect for a project...will 8" thirds fit it? what about the dual Tc's?

Hmmm...my 96 came with the 3.4L v6, auto. Didn't know the 4cyl was an option.

I believe the rear is an 8", but not sure about the front. Mine came with an E-locker in the rear, so I'm not messing with it.

is it the 2.7 L...don't know if they were in the 96 runners, if so it is a very good engine.  It will probably have a chain driven case so duals may be a little more complicated.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

Sweet thanks guys, I actually took possession today!!! I love it way more then the 2005 Dakota.

IT needs a little TLC (paint touch up running boards pulled etc...)but That rocks that all my toy stuff will swap over when I'm ready...

Its super bare...only AC which is Ideal IMO for a wheeler less electronics = teh Win!
