NEED a cheap daily driver in Colorado!!
« on: Jun 15, 2005, 10:36:48 PM »
...Just can't drive the rock rig to work anymore, gettin' pretty ridiculous..... :shake_head:

I desperately need a daily driver.... :driving:

I don't care if it's a 4x4 Toyota, 2WD Toyota, a Honda or a damned school bus, as long as it runs and gets decent gas mileage, I could care less about the rest.  I live in Denver, CO., which sucks, because most people on here are from California  :(  But hey, I need a good excuse to take a vacation, so ALL possibilities WILL be considered.

I've got a 96 Suzuki Sidekick 4x4 down here in Albuquerque.  Its an automatic and needs some AC work, but still gets 35 MPG. $1500.

Hmmmmm.... :headscratch: .....can't do the Sidekick....i'm 6'6" tall, and the Toyotas can sometimes be a squeeze.  Jim, I will be calling you very soon, and yea, your link doesn't work???  When I typed it in to my browser it went to your website host home page?  Either way, i'll be contacting you about that '84 Runner...

fwiw, the sidekick has WAY more headroom than my 84 pickup.  (the pickup is a single cab, so it's cramped no matter what)  The sidekick could use some more leg room tho...

yea, the 4Runners obviously have the open back, so I can lean the chair back as far as I need; as far as your rig havin' no AC, that's kinda rough, it's been around 90+ everyday here in Denver....bottom line is, I really would rather have a Yota than a Suzuki if I can swing it, simply because I am trained on Yotas mechanically, that's all.  I just got done looking at Junkyard Dog's 84 4Runner, and it's pretty clean, so i'll probably be negotiating with him on that.

I hear that...I'm working at a toyota dealership as a mechanic, and just bought my fiancee a Camry with a blown tranny just so I wouldn't have to work on the zuki...

I've got the parts to fix the AC...just have to get motivated to do it.  Hope the runner works out for you- I'd choose it over a zuki too.
