I am after a joint that can handle  gobs of side angle (twisting prependicular to its mount) for a traction bar mount.  I looked at Johnny joints and RubiconExpress's equivalent, either would work. Im just wanting more angle if possible. I would also like to minimize vibration transmission.
Give me what you got, what your running and what you have seen . . . .

Is Sams the one with the shackle?
if so something different.  This is more like a radius arm.

if you want the ultimate in missalignment use a double
pivoting bushing setup. you fab the brackets out of tubing plate whatever suits your fancy and it can pivot 180 degrees on both of its axis simple and effective
if you need an illustration i could whip out som groovy artwork

ive got theoretically >360* flex on my link ends, and its merely poly bushings. its a 1 1/8" grade 5 nut and bolt welded in the linkend as a greasable/adjustable junction...not my idea, but works quite well...

in a moment of mental perfection  last night i think i found the perfect high angle joint just use a universal joint!!!  just think it is greasable  way stronger than it is needed to be and cheap as hell!!

Thanks booger,
and WT the thought of using a universal joint had crossed my mind.  The issue of retaining it was one thought i had.  And if you wouldn't mind "drawing" your double bushing idea i would appreciate.

Im gonna collect as many ideas as i can then derive something.

If not that, you could use a Orbit-eye joint. ??? More movement than a johnny.

i think that what i will do when the time comes is use a mix of ideas from booger and myself for some trick twist with no bind.  i would use mine on the frame end and boogerz on the axle end.

I've seen the U-joint idea on a traction bar. Works very well. Nobody go and put them on suspension links though. They are not meant to handle that type of load.
