Rear brake thingy question
« on: May 23, 2005, 07:10:36 PM »
What the hek is that valve, thats attached to the rear axle on my 94? Im guessing it is a praportioning valve that senses the load in the bed, and increases brake pressure????

I just installed the Marlin springs in the rear and I think bad things will happen if I re-attach it, since these springs flex, and droop waay more than stock.

Is there a way to defeat it? Or mount it so its tricked into thinking the truck is empty?

Thanks Luke

Thanks minisimp,  any idea what I do with it? Looks like it will stretch if I re-attach it.

I cut mine off and zip-tied it in the up position, no problems so far.
Summitracing.com sells adjustable proportioning valves for around $40 that you adjust with a turn knob.
I'd go that route.

Here's how I fixed mine using stock parts that attached the arm to the axle and it is adjustable
