okay, i know its not a toyota but i need some helpful hints, :smack:  a few months ago i blew the engine in Mom's ford minivan :slap:the local junkyard has numerous wrecked mustangs and i can get a engine and tranny pretty cheap,
question is   how hard would it be to wire up?i'm guessing it would be relatively easy,  but then would the control module from the mustang plug into the  minivans wiring harness? :dunno:

Is the van a arrowstar?, a windstar is fount wheel drive so that wont work in it. and as for the 3.0 v6 in an arrowstar I dont know that a v8 will fit or even bolt up:dunno: so the ? is what modle is van, and year. and what year is the stang? but in any case my gess is your barking up the wrong tree. oh and aif your thinking of putting eng.,and trans in have your looked real hard at the room in there?:ack: or sould i say lack of room in there. last time I changed plugs on an arrowstar I buted up my knuckles good! any good luck if you get it done it would rock! oh and more than likey the v8 box and the v6 harness will not intrechange. ford likes to use a differant plug for just about every thing.
A good day working, that's just sick :reg:

:smack:well your probably right,  the Aerostar is a 92, the stang is a 90,  not really worried about motor mounts and tranny mounts,  new ones CAN be made :~~:but you might be right on the "room in there" i know the last time i changed plugs it was a nightmare, but i'm thinking i could cut holes in the body for changing plugs

I thought later Aerostars had an optional 4 liter engine. Why not look for one of those?

have you ever seen a 3.0 out of the van?  They are very narrow and as you know from changing the plugs there is NO room in the compartment for much else so the best bet would be another 3.0, sorry to say but ive got a 92 w/ a 3.0 and I looked at your options and thats what I came up with sorry :dunno:  and just how the heck did ya do to blow that thing up anyway mine has 204,000+ and still runs around with no problem just routine maintnance and such never any major repairs.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

well its got 150,000 on it,  but the belts had been slipping and i went and got new gates belts,  then the next morning  i took off to hotsprings about halfway there  i started loosing power, i checked my gauges they were all fine, but :dunno:still kept slowing, then oil pressure dropped,  befor i got to the side, it was making like a coffee can full of bricks,  temp gauge never went past the "R" in "normal"

it took my girlfriend  an hour to get there to pick me up and the van was still smoking like it was on fire,  i had already got the cb and stuff out cause i thought it was going up,  actually if i had known then what i know now about mom's insurance i'd a found a match :~~: :~~:

what happened you might ask,  ,   water pump froze up broke the shaft and therefor got REALLY HOT :~~: really quik

i havent tore into it yet, but i guess i need to look for another 3.0

oh yea,  the last time i started it  it ran okay besides the violent shaking and the exhaust coming out the radiator cap :smack:maybe i could find a rolled f1504x4 and mount the body on it :dunno:maybe not :slap:
