I bought the W56c from a salvage yard about seven months ago for my build up.  I just now got the clutch working and it is popping out of all gears.  I bought a new Marlin shifter seat and socket because I knew that it was popping out of first and hoped that this would help.  Would new detent springs solve this?

Thanks

It's possible that new detent springs could fix it, but could all of them be bad at once?  Do you have a shifter boot on there?  See if the boot doesn't have enough movement and is making tension on the shifter, sliding it out of gear.

No I haven't got around to putting boots on.  Just swapped out the rail and fork in the front xfer case as it was for a G52 and I needed the shorter W56.  I put new detent springs, balls and caps in it.
