But if it was in the front, it would be the rear pinion bearing??

Sounds abou right to me, but the word Facing would make it a lot easier to understand :disturbed:

It it entirely possible that I simply don't know the complete part breakdown on a 3rd member, but when you say, "front pinion bearing," I would expect to see you working on the front end of the rig? My only other guess is that there is two bearings on the pinion?
when i first read it i thought the same thing, but when i saw the rear jacked up i knoew what bearing he was talking about

Mark  did it not get enough oil  rotated up  :headscratch:

I was kinda wondering this too, I noticed that it is a High Pinion and I would imagine if you rotate the axle up it may not get any oil.

Ok, maybe I should have said outter bearing. (you know the one closest to the seal)  :shake:

It all started when the synthetic gear oil got water in it. The synthetic oil broke down and mixed with the water causing a sludge.

I didn't expect the pinion bearing was going to last much longer. I only hope it didn't damage the pinion gear.

I want to look into making a oil pump to help get oil to the pinion bearings.

Hey I'm in FLTTORA with usmcracer. The next campout we're doing is in January at the Oklawaha RV Resort in the northish end of the ONF. It's the Florida 4WD Assosiation winter campout and it's huge. There will be all kinds of rigs there. You should deffinately come up for that. Lots of wheeling around that area. APit is a short drive (20something minutes) and then all of the ONF to explore.

The FLTTORA website is http://www.flttora.com
Hey 91 - we're going to look into that, sounds cool!

91, it looks like we will be going to that. We're finding out more from our jeep club and we'll probably join FLTTORA.

Here's a couple more pics from this past weekend that another guy took:

I see you have met the Krafts. Steve and Janet are very good people. It's been a while since I've been out with them. Looks like the Vene's and the Deltona crew will be heading to River Rock that weekend.

Check this out... Rokcrawlintoy sent me this page of Toyota Trails magazine. Not only is that me in the bottom right picture that looks like I'm  and kissing Marlin's ring. LOL! But the top right picture is a picture of the underside of the Mammoth hood where Marlin signed it.

At least you were kissing his ring hehehee www.riverrockorv.com is located in Ga. About 1 hour south of Atlanta. Were planing our own trip for April or May but since we got invited on this wild hair run were scamblin to make it work for a pre trip. Janet e-mailed me to say they are also thinking of a trip in the near future as well. Maybe if they spread thier trip far enough a part I can get to go 3 times this year :crossed:  You guys are welcome with us if you want.

I knew there was a good reason to carry a jerry can with us on our trail ride, I must have known we were going to run out of fuel.

:haha: That's the first time that happened again.  :shake:

  I guess I should hook up the fuel gauge huh.

What the engine lacks in power it makes up for in rpm. We did 55-56 mph in 3rd gear all the way to Ocala. That's about 120 mile round trip in 3rd gear. If you put it in 4th gear it slows down  :shake_head:

Anyway after topping off and bleeding out the air in the fuel lines we were back up to speed  :driving:

We saw all kinds of hunters, but not one deer. I think the deer were all hiding knowing there were a bunch of rednecks with guns looking for them.

Maybe those hunters were ticked off at all those 4wheelers scaring all the deer away from their stands and were thinking of practicing on them. :yikes:

:headscratch: Whose to say we wouldn't scare the deer in their direction?

And considering all the other hunters we passed on the move in other directions, and in some places the number of hunters per square foot, I would say they would be lucky not to be shooting each other!

There was more interest in looking at this yellow beastie coming through the brush then there was concern over us scaring off their prey.

Now, on the other hand, maybe my standing up, waving my arms and yelling RUN DEER RUN, might have perturbed them a tad :_oops:

THe worst was at the other campground the week before. It was a hunt camp and they were bagging. I know venision is good, and I know its :blah: but they still are beautiful animals and I would rather shoot them with my camera :blah:

We did see a couple bagged, one on the trail and one that was being trimmed (or whatever) at the weigh station (or whatever).

No guts, no gory :haha:

We went to the FL4WDA campout at Lake Ocklawaha FL. and saw a few Marlin stickers.

Didn't get there names, but asked if they were on the board and a couple said they were. I wanted to get a group picture, but never found the rite time to set this up.
