W56 transmission identification help

Hello. I just picked up two W56 transmissions, but I'm trying to figure out more specifics on them i.e. year and sub model number (a-e). Are there any specific indicators I can look for to help identify them. One of the transmissions has one shifter hole and the other has two shifter holes. That's the most I got going right now. Thanks.
