Here is one I can't wrap my head around. 1982 Toyota pickup. Previous owner ripped out most everything to de smog it. I've been slowly putting it back together and restoring it to its formal glory with some of upgrades.(hy steer). Issue I'm having is a bad shake at idle and missing. Here is what I have done already to try and solve this issue. Egr block off plates, new offenhouser intake, new lce smog legal Weber carb, new plugs wires, installed fuel pressure regulator(3psi), fuel filter, new dual row timing chain, verified with timing it's on point, new distributor, head gasket, valves are all adjusted per spec even did it warm, no vacuum leak, alternator, battery. All that and still a rough idle. Runs amazing after 2000rpm but anything under there is a shudder and a shake.
Anyone else have this issue and solve it? I'm at a loss here are some ideas I have but don't want to spend a fortune: possible bad valve or seats?possible bad rectifier? Could I be a knock or wire that was cut I have a whole bundle 12 or so that were just cut? :headscratch:

Your description reads like a 1-cylinder misfire.

Misfires are typically ignition or fuel.

If there is proper fuel mixture and a good spark but not enough compression to ignite the mixture, that's a misfire.  Insufficient compression can be valves, valve seals, or rings.

If it runs right above 2000 RPMs it's possible the coil is failing.

Ignitors usually work or totally fail.

Defective spark plugs or plug wires out of a new box is rare, but I suppose it is possible.

What is the camshaft profile, recommended valve lash? A cam with lots of overlap can cause a rough idle – lope.

If one of the cylinders is not combusting fuel, the spark plug should be wet and carbon coated.

Have you pulled the plugs after letting idle and misfire for about 5 minutes?

Have you done a compression check?

Valves are in spec as far as adjustment. I did new plugs and wires a couple times thinking it was a bad batch but that didn't do it. plugs seem to be consistent and rich. It had a old dirty weber So I suspected bad carb and did a full rebuild kit and adjusted the float. still a miss. So, I picked up a smog legal one from LCE because that's the goal is to make this a daily driver and smog it eventually. actually, this miss is really the only thing holding me up from getting it back on the road. brand new cam (stock) because I had a lobe or two that looked a little worn. I have not done a compression check in a while but I remember it being even and in spec. I can do another to confirm. If it was valve seals wouldn't it be smoking from oil getting by? I can also look into the coil I believe I have a spare in my toyota parts bin. I appreciate the help.
