Marlin reman r150f stuck in forward gear
« on: May 28, 2023, 11:49:22 AM »
Wrapping up install of a marlin reman’d r150f into a 4Runner and when I went to put in neutral to install driveshafts figured out that the trans is stuck in a forward gear. Shifter has some play like it is in neutral but can’t get any movement forward or rearward. Rpm of driveshaft flanges seems fast with engine at idle. I’d guess 4th or 5th gear. Reverse ramp is visible through sensor hole. Clutch functions normally.  Can detents be removed to check fork positions?  I don’t want to pull and swap back to original trans as it has an issue popping out of first along with all of the extra work.

I assume marlin is closed until tues due to the holiday and we have a trip booked this week please help!!

I am getting 1/2 of the lateral neutral movement of the shifter compared to the take out. Shifter moves like normal in neutral to the left but seems to hit a wall to the right of center.

Well I was able to sort it out with some trial and error on the core. Transmission was in 5th gear with the shifter in neutral. I was able to remove the middle detent ball and work it back to neutral with an angled pick.  Everything seems to shift fine now and I have neutral. I’m sure this condition was due to rough handling in transit, thanks UPS.
