After all my research, I am pretty sure the noise coming from the trans is a bad input shaft bearing / counter shaft bearing.

I have a w56-b trans just replaced the clutch/ components but still have a rattle/knock when the clutch is not pressed in. The sound is very noticeable while in neutral and the sound picks up with the engine speed unless the clutch is pressed.

I was hoping to have somone check my part number research before I pull the trigger on these bearings.

Looks like toyota is the only place to get these. Cobra transmission and all state gear have stuff listed but I can not verify if they are OEM / made in Japan.

Thanks for the help.. not looking forward to pulling the trans again...

Not to sound mean or anything, but you will have to pull the transmission again anyway to replace those bearings, right?

Pull it, open it and verify part numbers and order them if you can afford the downtime.

I rebuilt a w56b with a kit from Cobra transmission and all the bearing part numbers matched. But this was pre-pandemic.

I hope this helps.

You don't sound mean at all. Ill be doing that to begin with, but i have a funny feeling there are Chinese bearings in there because the pilot bearing had a china stamp on it. Just trying to get ahead and research my options if the bearings in there are cheap ones.

if yer pulling the tranny might as well replace the piolet and throwout bearings while yer at it.
