Hi All;
Hey,I'm gonna try to resurrect my '81 Yota 4X4 truck, "The Rollin' Wreck". I swapped the front and rear end over to an '82 I got-it was--NOT rolled,generally a nicer truck. A guy left a note saying he's like to buy it,so I sold it. Now I'm going to rework the '81. I have access to a pair of axles from an '86 Jeep Comanche-how big a bag-o-snakes would they be to put in? How do they rate for a swap like this. Another sub-question-I put my Power Steering box into the '82-is there a relatively easy swap/conversion for the steering? As was true before,I'll be building from what I can salvage or scavenge,but if I have an idea what vehicles have what I can make work it'll be ;ot of help. Toyota stuff is not an option,the buyer of my '82 and I have,I believe,the only Toyota trucks of this vintage in the whole County-and it's a BIG County
I know I haven't be4en around for a while-Once I got the '82 on its wheels,everything else decided to fail. My other driver,the Exploder lost its brakes in grand style,My Chevy flatbed shredded its start mechanism in the column,and my furnace hasn't worked in over 2 months,so the heat has been one electric heater and leaving the oven on 24/7. Now I'm finally getting on top of my problems so it's time to start building a NEW problem.
I may not have said it yet,but the guy who bought the '82 should be getting logged on here soon.
