Alrighty, I have a fully built motor I just picked up from an old member on here that has been out of the crawling aspect for a while.

Specs:
bored .040 over
Balanced
Crank Scraper
MLS head gasket
ARP head studs
LC dual valve springs
TRD stage 2 cam

It was built to run propane, and a turbo.  The head intake ports has been machined for better air flow.

I am seeing online to do Proper tuning, and a better exhaust.  (According to Rogers website)  I would love to go to a header, but right now my concern is this.  Can this work with all the factory injectors, and exhaust for the time being??  I know Gnarls has the dyno sheet specs on his post, but that is all computer dyno specs.  I want somebody that has this setup, and knows what to do to make it run right.

A 22R?

What is the compression ratio?

22RE and the compression ratio should be 9:1.  It wasn't set up for high compression, just bored .040 over, intake ports cleaned up, and the TRD stage 2 cam.  And was ran with propane, and a Turbo.
From other sources I am told to run a aftermarket ECM, larger AFM, injectors from a Subaru, and full exhaust.  But also, just a full exhaust and advance the AFM 2 teeth.  So, I am at a loss here.  I also picked up a recently rebuilt motor that should work.  But....

Hey C...

I read that the "dyno specs" may not be meaningful for you. But in the absence of any empirical data (a real engine dyno test), those EA numbers should give you some comparison value for a cam profile in a slightly modified 22RE.

Just for the record TRD cams were designated Level 1 and Level 2 – Not "Stage 2".

The Level 2 cam from TRD was the same as the Crane cam 704-0012 at zero degrees advanced. As you can see on my sheet, it is a very nice cam profile!  It produces good numbers after 3000 RPMs and has a nice bump in HP right around 5500 RPMs.  But in my rebuilt 22RE, it has slightly lower torque numbers from 1000 to 3000.

The 22RET had a compression ratio of 8:1, as I remember, and is supposedly the optimum static compression number for a turbo, but 9:1 is not uncommon for a turbo'd engine.

Depending upon where you want your power should determine how you want to modify it.

I have zero experience with a highly modified 22.   sirdeuce could chime in here with way more experience.

Gnarls, I got a good deal on the motor with the cam.  I just don't want to put it in, and to have it be too lean with some tweaks.

Friday I might be making some calls to Putney and LC Engineering to see what is recommended.
