Just an FYI folks but the creek fire has reached San Flats and is moving toward West Lk and Red Lks.  Fire border map from FS shows right along the Red Lk trail.  Knowing the amount of dead and downed :pokinit: up there this won't end well for that area :(

Brewer Lk area is also in the path of the fire.  Crews are up there but I haven't seen any reports of specific actions there.  Check out the Sierra N Forest FB site for updates and details.

So sad, I wish california would have allowed thinning of the forest, similar to what was done in that area prior to the 1980s that removed forest fire fuels.
Hope for more rain.......

I'm surprised that the west coast of Oregon has fires.  When I was there the coast range as very wet.

Just got back from the Gold Beach area and most of the fire's are Inland quite a bit, in the dryer areas. Oregon also is not the once-great logging Capital that it used to be. Restrictions  on the removal of wood and flammable materials have increased .. I sure hope all the fires don't get any worse.

without proper forest management these fires will only get worse.

I had to evacuate from my home for a couple days, and I live on the Oregon Coast.  Tillamook, OR.  Here is a photo from the night.  You can see the led lights on the equipment.

We just had some serious East winds that dried everything out terribly. We never get east winds like this.  There was reports of 80 mph, and 52 mph near our little airport.  We usually get East winds over the next 2 months off and on.  But its never over 20 mph.  But the winds we had, brought our humidity down to 5%.

Geez I was thinking about moving somewhere near Tillamook.  Now I'm scared.  Didn't know this could happen.

Didn't you live here before?   As for wildfires, we always get small ones that are quickly controlled.  Usually only a couple acres.  But this was a rare incident.  Kind of a perfect storm!!  We had very high east winds that dried everything out overnight, and with such force, most of the trees were stripped of their leaves.  And the leaves were still green and crunched under foot, it was so dry.  Something like below 5% humidity.  And since we don't get high winds (had reports of 80 mph, and with 50 mph sustained) from the east, the trees are not rooted that way.  So, they took out power lines, and since everything was tinder ready, it took off easily.
