82 Carb stalling questions
« on: Jun 10, 2020, 05:17:11 AM »
This weekend my 82 carb started stalling at idle.  Otherwise, it runs fine.  It's either the idle control solenoid or the Emission Control Computer.  If it's the computer, has anyone identified what part of it controls this or goes bad and how to fix it?  Would it be possible to just delete the idle control solenoid all together with a plug?  I know the other option is grounding it to the body, I just like simplicity and deleting problematic items. Thanks in advance for the help.

A little update for anyone searching.  Turns out a couple of resistors in the Emission Control Computer must have vibrated out so I grounded the solenoid to the body.  Would like to fix this some how as it's a bit of a gas saver as it works as a fuel cut in deceleration if anyone has one.  Was pretty suprised to see those resistors gone.
