Hello Everyone. My experience with Toyota is growing up when my dad got a 79 the year I was born, a 99 tacoma, and I just got 90 4runner last Friday. 3.0 is toast. So going the 3.4 route, as it's pretty straight forward. I've seen previous builds body lift range from 3/8" upto 2". Unfortunately at this point this won't be a weekend warrior, but would like it to be a daily for my teenagers, and the ability to hit the trails when time off permits. So I don't see a reason to go a full 2", any input pros and cons? Also I found a place that does the harness pretty much plug and play for $600. I haven't looked here or researched throughly the forum if that wiring info. is available. Alright thanks.

So thank you guys for the knowledge ahead of time.

Check out the 3.4 swap thread on yotatech.

I run 1.5 bl and have tons of room.

Might as well and go with the a 2" BL, that way you can lift the gas tank up for more ground clearance, and if you run headers, you will have more clearance on the firewall.

Dingman.

When I 3.4 swapped my old 4Runner.  I did not use a body lift, but cut the interior hood bracing and used a hammer to put a bump in the hood.  I had thoughts about doing a hood scoop so it looked better, but quickly lost the motivation and lived with the tumor on the hood.   I just mention this, because it did not need a ton of additional clearance.
