ok one more thing (22R)

Toyotaot the 83 toyota has a 22R but the  valve Cuvier says 22R-E and loOKs like a 22R-E

but OK it will start up and run OK but win you hit the gas it has this bad nose come from the distributor where it gos in to the motor the kid i got it from had the head off and put it all back on
but i don't think he got the distributor in right what can this be?

i dont think its the distributer thats makin the noise, i think its the timing chain hitting the cover, sounds like a diesel if im not mistaken. if the chain guides are on wrong or not on at all that will throw off the timing and cause the chain to eat away at the cover and sling metal shavings which will cost a lot of money if you dont fix it right. my suggestion is to get a mechanics stethascope and find out where the noise is coming from then you will be able to asses the problem and fix it.

k the chain guides  are one it and one side of the chain is tight and the uther side it loos
and the chain guides seem to be not pushin on the chain vary hard
