Charter/Spectrum Internet Alternatives?
« on: May 07, 2019, 01:49:44 PM »
Long story short, they suck and have pissed me off for the last time.  Had an appointment for them to address my super slow connection from 8-9 this morning.  I left the house at 9:30 to run a couple quick errands and checked with the contractors tearing off my roof and they said nobody came by.  Went and got my hair did and went to the store, came back and still nobody had come by.

I called spectrum and they informed me that my appointment had been canceled.  Half hour later and no true solution offered except “we can probably have someone out to your house from 4-5.  They couldn’t understand why I didn’t want to again wait around.

Are there any other internet providers worth switching to?  I can’t see why I should keep paying those clowns $65 a month

Hey Nate, I called Travis at Velocity. He said they have a repeater on South Fork Mountain -- if you can see the mountain from your roof, and if no trees or buildings are in the way, they can reach you with an airshot. It's a long way off and I'm not even sure how to identify that exact peak from your place.  I guess just look for the highest peak? All I know is it's west of you. I told him I'd let him know -- so if you can check, let me know.
My goal in life is to be as a good a person as my dog already thinks I am.
