So I want to put a locker on the front of my yota. She has a three inch lift. I would like to do a cable locker. Anyone help with product info and MB a bit of tech info. Easy, hard, etc....

I thought most cable lockers relied on a different differential cover (e.g. OX Locker) which a Toyota doesn't have, but it seems like I've heard of a cable conversion for the Toyota e-locker. Why not just run an e-locker?

The Toyota FJ70 (not available in the USDM) has cable actuated lockers.
After import fees/shipping you're better off going with an E-Locker.

Chilkat sells a cable conversion for the factory E-Locker.

However, referring to your last question - 100% agreed with this cable solution. Why spend more to replace an electrical cable with a mechanical one?

Black diamond- I believe you right. At present, my diffs are open. I need to find an e-locker for my 3rd. Could I even do an e-locker for the front as it has a diff cover?

No, the Toyota E-locker will only fit in the Toyota 8" rear 3rd('79-'95) and front 3rd('79-83)  w/modifying the housing, or the 1st gen Tacoma and 3rd gen 4-Runner rear axle.

To have a selectable locker in your '87, you would have to go with an ARB for the 7.5" IFS 3rd member.

I would put a selectable in the rear, then decide if you need a locker for the front.
'90 black X-cab mod'd 3.0, 33's/4.88's, rear ARB, custom bumpers, sliders, safari rack, etc.
'91 Blue X-cab 22re, 35's/5.29's,Truetrac front, ARB rear, dual cases, and custom Safari flatbed, bumper, interior.

Mine isn't a cable locker but I went with the harrop electric locker and love it. No actuator sticking outside the diff. And draws very little amps. Looks stock besides the two wires coming out. Check them out if you can. Hope you find what you want!
