2nd gen 4runner trans swap to charokee

I'm looking for info regarding my 2nd gen runner my auto trany is blown and i dont want to replace it with the same model iv been told Cherokee is a great replacement iv found threads regarding this but would like more info. Like what year Cherokee transmission should i use and will my stock x-member work do i need to take the Cherokee shifters and will my transmission yolk swap over to the jeep trans. The little things will help me with the bigger picture. Any feedback is appreciated. And before you all start telling me to put i 5 speed in well I'm sticking with the auto
