Bigger brakes for the 85

I suspect this has been covered somewhere on the site, still learning my way around the site.

I have heard of a way to change the front rotors to vented ones, and using IFS calipers from early 90's truck/4runners?
Trying to do this on a budget, with minimal fab equipment onsite- working on a gravel driveway. Things are a bit rustic up here in central Ak
