1984 22R Aisan 2BBL question.
« on: Apr 24, 2018, 04:40:36 PM »
I was wondering  if someone familiar with this carb ( '84 Toyota 4x4 Aisan 2 Barrel )  could tell me what goes on the end of the OVCV shaft. Upon removal of the valve from the carb I found a bare shaft with groove in the end. logic tells me that a 4mm shaft moving back and forth in a about a 12mm hole will seal nothing, so there had to be a plunger or something. This is my first encounter with this particular animal and i'm stuck with the task of trying to fix something that someone else disassembled, made a mess of, and finally gave up on. And though i haven't been able to find any info to prove it (and i have spent pretty much an entire day looking) that there must be there must be a piece of the puzzle missing here. Am i wrong? Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this.

Thanks for the reply.  Sorry I didn't get back to you right away, but I was on the road at the time. I will take a pic and get it posted as soon as i figure out how.  It's the little solenoid valve that vents the fumes in the float bowl if that helps.

Yeah give us a photo, maybe few and we can figure it out.  I have become pretty friendly with this carb the last couple years.

Ugh! 11 posts before i can show you the pics i just went through an hour of hurdles to show you? Alright, I'll be back. Not sure what the topic of the next 9 posts will be, but i am too invested to give up now. I shall return after completion of this new set of hurdles then. Your patience is appreciated.
