I have a 3in body lift so the tranny shifter sits pretty low, id like to raise it just 2 inches. I cant figure out how to get that long black thing off of the shifter rod. Maybe some of you have suggestions on what i can do to make a bit longer. I also want to make it so its bent more towards the driver.

Thanks
Nathan

Yup, with my flat belly and a 3/4" body lift the shifter is about 6" under the level of my shoulder....

I believe the upper (black) portion of the stock shift is epoxied onto the lower part.  Maybe heating it up would loosen it so you can remove it.  Or maybe some big vise grips and twist.  I think the threads for the knob are 12x1.25 mm (maybe 1.50 cant remember), so you could always make an extension using a nut to thread on then some round bar.

I had a hard time getting my shifter bent right and a comfortable height.  I added four or five inches to the length and bent it in quite a few places.  I took a cut off wheel in the angle grinder and made three cuts 3/4's of the way through.  Then bent it, welded and ground the welds down.

The hoop goes with the one on the front transfer case...to pad lock it in reverse and low.

I could take it out, cut and weld it but i was thinking if i could find something to thread over the shift knob part that will extend it like and inch or two.

And 84runner i thinkt he short throw is only for the t-cases...I wish they made one for the tranny

like I said, take a piece of round bar and weld a 12x1.25 nut on one end.  Thread onto shifter.  Done.
