new guy with webber issues
« on: Sep 24, 2017, 09:14:48 AM »
So I just signed up for this forum because I am having issues with my webber. Ive got an 86 toyota pikup that I Just rebuilt the engine on. This little truck has been a fun project but ended up costing much more than anticipated. Anyhow, ive seen the mod where you plug the bowl vent. Mine already had that vent your supposed to drill out on the bowl. Not being confident this was my issue I took the cap off that vent and stuffed a peice of vacuum hose where the vent supposedly dumps into the carb, it seemed to seal very well for a temporary application. Then drove up a steep hill. I died so I looked at the carb and it was dripping a significant amount of fuel into the primary side(sorry i dont know carb terminology well) It appears to be dripping from where it should under normal operation but its a lot of fuel and it does it still after the engine dies. Ive got the crappy holly regulator so Ill double check if that is still doing its job right now. anyhow, it runs great otherwise. It will stay running if I give it throttle but bouncing around the mountains I want to be able to creep very slowly to the crest of hills not knowing what may be on the other side.
