Vacuum advance help please
« on: Apr 28, 2017, 09:53:08 AM »
Hey, so I'm getting closer to getting my hybrid in, and I have some concerns with the distributor I got. I got the lc engineering pro distributor without vacuum advance. I have some concerns after reading now that without the vacuum advance it won't be good for a daily? Can I still use it as a daily without vacuum advance? Also how would I set the ignition timing?

This is the set up

22r block bored 40 over
Stroker crank
Eagle rods
Forged 40 over pistons
Gapless rings
20r head
Stainless steel oversized valves
Dual valve springs
Delta 272 433 lift cam
Weber 32/26
Msd street fire ignition
Blaster 2 coil

You're making a pretty hot engine there.  I have never ran a distributor with no vac advance but with all the messing around I have done with my 22r I don't think it would be good to daily drive one without it.  I think, (I don't know because I've never done it) that that kind of setup is for when you want to tune a race application for WOT all the time, stuff like that.

I would first call the guys at LC and discuss your concerns, then if they don't have some tuning solution that will work well for DD I would see if they would swap you out for one with the vac advance.
