Hello everyone, Im a new member on here but not a complete newbie in the 4x4 world. I am in my late 30's and have been wheeling, wrenching, fabricating, etc etc for 20+ yrs. I came here to this forum for a little bit of help on a 1986 4runner that i am trying to build up for a light duty DD/sport utility vehicle. I already have a dedicated trail rig so this vehicle will be street driven 95% of its life... or at least while i own it.. My first priorities are to get it running and driving again. The engine is currently at the machine shop and I am waiting on its return so i can finally start the process of reassembly. I posted a couple of questions in the Transmission section of this forum and hopefully someone will chime in with some info.

Im hoping it will be fun once i get the poor ol thing back together. Its in pieces at the moment. Engine is at the machine shop, auto trans is in the floor and the 5spd swap is almost ready to install. I am hoping that everything goes back together without too much hassle. At the moment the biggest hurdle is the mess of wiring that the previous owner created. To top that im swapping in the manual trans and deleting the emissions junk since several pieces were missing when i bought it. So that being said, i have took on more of a project than i originally planned on.

Thanks everyone.
Seems like people here are a bit more friendly than "other" forums.
