Hello all! I'm newer to the forum and it's time I introduce myself. I'm Jimmy and live in the Verde Valley in north central AZ.

I recently decided I wanted to get greasy and bust a few knuckles on the weekend so I am now the proud owner of a 93 standard cab 4x4 4 cyl pickup with supposedly 190k miles. It had been sitting in my brother in law's garage for 4 years and I finally got him to sell it to me. He said it had overheated and I'm thinking it could be an easy fix. As it turns out it was a blown head gasket and water/ coolant had been sitting in the pan for 4 years.

So here what I have done (with some help) since the end of September:

Swapped in a rebuilt 22RE. No issues so far with ~2k miles. Retorqued the head and adjusted the valves at 500 along with an oil change.

While I had the engine out:

New radiator, hoses, thermostat, water pump. The old radiator was not original and I replaced it with an all metal CHF. I flushed all the crud out of the heater core and used Toyota red coolant.

Cap, rotor, plugs, wires all denso or Toyota.

New injectors and fuel filter

The belts looked new so I kept them.

Aisin clutch, master and slave cylinder, Sachs flywheel. I actually pulled out a very worn marlin clutch. Pilot and throw out bearing (Nachi)

I intend this for a daily driver so I swapped the 31s for 29 inch tires.

The inside was a mess so it got cleaned up, seat cover, vinyl floor, radio, SR5 cluster with tach.

So I got this all done and on the road and I'm just getting to know it a little. I'm noticing noises and howls etc. I isolate one as the trans input shaft bearing. So I pull the transmission apart, replace it along with the countershaft bearing and all new gaskets and seals.

I have also replaced the front wheel bearings. I sourced a set of aisin hubs and cleaned them up and put them on. I have a set of superwinch ones laying around if anyone is interested.

I still have a howl and after eliminating the driveshaft, I have isolated it to the rear pinion bearing. I'm working on that but should be mobile again soon. I will replace the wheel bearings and seals while I have the axle out.

I'm quite sure I overpaid for it at this point but it's been a fun project and it's a rust free az truck.

Thanks for the helpful replies on my other threads!  :beerchug:
