I have a 1988 3VZE. I was driving in a downpour for about an hour today and my clutch pedal began to drop very easily with essentially no tension and engage really close to the floor. Shifting became very difficult quite quickly and I had to force the tranny in 2nd and keep it there till I got home where it sits now. The clutch will not engage at all anymore and the pedal will stay on the floor after I remove my foot from the pedal. The engine has 165k on it. I'm currently looking for documentation of any clutch replacement in its past ownership. Any advice is greatly appreciated. And please go easy on the 3 slow jokes.

Mudder

Check the adjustment rod between the clutch master and the clutch pedal  if it came off then the pedal could've moved or it could be extremely out of adjustment .

The first photo is with the clutch pedal disengaged. This photo is with the pedal touching the floor.

from the pics, it looks like the rubber boot for clutch master in the interior is shiny/ wet.

The rubber boot for the clutch master is very damp.

I bled the clutch lines and fixed the issue. Theres a leak somewhere that I need to locate. Thanks for the suggestions!

You can gain some time by clutch less shifting.

Save the clutch for 1st gear dead stop......

Are you joking? I as not aware that it was safe for the tranny to do that. I have shifted without the clutch before but never continuously. Could you explain a bit?

match the engine speed with the transmission speed and shift it

after staring at the pics, I'm sure 1 of the problems is the master clutch cylinder. I would swap master cylinder

Start with upshifts.

Don't force it.

Knowing how has saved my butt many times (the starter override switch so you can start in 1st gear is useful too).       I'll practice every once in awhile.

Are you guys freakin' serious?

This guy has a bad master, you can see in the pics.
His white "hose" is the clutch cancel switch.

Guy.
Replace the master cylinder.
Either massage that bracket so it works or just wire the two wires together and move on.
hold this. . .
