Need info/specs on Toyota MAF for a project
« on: Oct 28, 2016, 03:44:41 AM »
Hey guys,
My name is Edd and I think I'm in the right place for the help I need.
I'll try to explaine what I'm doing.  I have a drakart single seat dune buggy which has a engine from a 1987 Chevrolet sprint turbo car. 1 liter 3 cylinder.
The contact patch inside my maf has worn out giving me crazy readings all over the place.
There are a couple of parts that for this engine which you can not get new ones for and the maf is one.
I'm hoping someone can look in there manual and give me the specs/ohms ect so I can compare it to mine. I've looked online and the limited info ( ohms ect ) I could find looks promising.  The housing and internals look the same as the 88 era trucks as well.
I'm not afraid to cut ,splice , chop , solder Ect. I have a wideband for tuning as well.
I'll try to post a pic of my manual showing the ohms Ect.
I've enjoyed reading through this site as I had a stock 88 Toyota 4wd which I put a Chevy 400hp 350 engine ,310 cam, trick flow twist wedge aluminum heads ect, with a race prepped TCI 350 transmission mated up to the stock transfer case using Advanced Adaptors parts ,and a lift kit, I changed the front and rear differentials to a newer model truck as I recall the chunk was bigger and geared lower. It would bark the 36" super swappers when it hit second gear. back in the day it was a rare beast that was my daily driver. The stuff you guys are doing now though is awesome.
I just wanted to get it out there that even though I'm not working on a Toyota now I have huge respect for them and like most things I wish I had never sold it.
  Any help would be appreciated.
  Thanks Edd

So I have seven pins.  There are numbered 1-2-3-4-5-6-7.  One is next to the intake hose and 7 is next to my filter side. 6 and 7 are Not used.
So the ohms per my manual should be as follows.
  5 to 3 should be 100 to 300 ohms
  5 to 4 should be 200 to 400 ohms
5 to 1 is temp sensitive and is as follows
  -4 should be 10 to 20 ohms
  32 should be 4 to 7 ohms
  68 should be 2 to 3 ohms
  104 should be .09 to 1.3 ohms.

thank you for any help you may have.
Edd
