Hi All,

I have a 96 4x4 Toyota Hilux with a 2.4 petrol 22R engine in it.

I live in Zambia where the 22R is uncommon.
The 1RZ and 2RZ are very common here.

I was wondering if either of these engines would fit directly into my Hilux as a replacement.

Has anybody tried this and been successful??
Or does anybody know of any other Toyota engines that could be a direct replacement for the 22R engine??

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Alan.

2RZ would be a great choice.  Read the 3RZ thread here and you will have all the information you need.  The 2RZ is just a bit smaller but the same layout.
