Ok, My questions are 1. will a 5sp trany out of a 91 3.0L 4-runner bolt up to the bell housing of the same truck but an automatic bell housing?   2.  Would the transfercase out of a 91 3.0L 5sp 4-runner be a good choice for running duel cases in an 87 4-runner 22re 5sp?  3. Would it be worth it to swap the 87 4-runner drivetrain 22re 5sp into the 91 4-runner 3.0L 5sp.  ???   PS:(the 91 has a blown motor and a straight body, the 87 has a realy rough bodyu and a good drivtrain)

well the 5 speed out of a 93 3.0 l is called a r150f, witch is a good tranny, as far as i kno u can use the case for gears, but the bellhouseing im not sure about, i have 2 bellhouseings, so if urs wont work ill sell ya one, make me an offer

I do not know if the front bolt pattern of a A340-type transmission is the same as a R150F.. I will have to ask Marlin

No, it is impossible to do. No one even makes an adapter to mate a VF1A (chain drive) transfercase behind a W56 transmission -- and I hope it never gets made!!
Actually as of right now our MC10 adapter is not finished. So there is no such thing as a 1st gen (89-95) chaindrive dual t/case. The only option would be to use a 30-4GT adapter to convert to a gear drive t/case (79-95) and then go dual case with the MC07, MC08, or MC08-R10 adapter using two gear drive t/cases.

Well, this is a tough question.. You are thinking about converting your 3.0 V6 that currently is an Automatic to a 4cyl W56 5spd, right? Of course the correct way to do this would be to use a R150F bellhousing (5spd/3.0 V6) and a R151F transmission (5spd/22R-TE 4cyl Turbo ['86-'87]) that has the correct bolt pattern for the RF1A gear drive transfercase from your '87 4Runner drivetrain.
If you were to put the 4Runner 5spd in behind your V6, I would normally say that its not gonna last, but I've been using a W56 behind my 2.7l 3RZ-FE 4cyl engine that makes more power than your V6 -- and Toyota is doing this in T100s, Tacomas, and 4Runners. Even with the newer 03+ version that uses VVTi that is rated at 13 more HP and 3 ft-lbs more TQ than a 3.0 V6 and they are not having problems..
The V6 does develop its torque band sooner then the 4cyl, despite having nearly the same torque ratings, but I would still lean towards the R-series transmission because it is designed for the V6. When I Supercharge my 3RZ this summer, I am going to look into making a custom 3RZ / R151F belhousing so I can use the stronger R-trans.
