I am new to rock crawlers and have bought myself a 82 pickup with a 22r 5 speed. The frame and motor are great however the cab and the floor pan has completely rusted off its mounts. Keep in mind this is a toy/hobby it does not need to look showroom. My question is can you buy a new floor pan and install it or am I looking at a complete cab swap? If its has to be a swap what years should I look for and is there a lot of fab work? I have never taken on a project like this so any commits would help Thanks

79-83 are the same, though shifter holes may be slightly off

Check out my build thread if you want... You could do something like what I did, buy with a second gen extra cab... it's not quite as long as the 3rd gen, and will be a bit simpler... Or, just grab a couple pieces of sheet metal and some 1" tubing and build a new floor...
