ok, so there are a ton of threads on this, I know... But I can't make heads or tails of it....

So here is my question Directly.... I need a GL4 for my Lancer trans, but it should also apply to Toy trans as well.....

for the record, my Mitsubishi says: SAE 75W − 90W or 75W − 85W conforming to API classification GL-4

Looking @ Redline MTL, MT85, and MT90

What's the difference?

They both look exactly the same other than what they describe as being used for.... price is the same

^^ What he said, call 'em on Monday. I would guess MT-90 because the description says "Popular in Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, VW/Audi, Lotus Elise/Exige, Toyota".

well, I would think that the MT85 would actually be more spec, as my FSM does specifically say or 75W − 85W (also, it says this is for the Lancer EVO, mine isn't an EVO though)

or the MT90 as well, as that is the other spec SAE 75W − 90W

It doesn't matter that much for gear oils. Just pick and never look back!  Go with MT90...
