Interesting turn of events.  My wife was supposed to get $2,000 from her grandpa's estate about 20 years ago.  The money was tied up because of conflict and miscommunication of family members.  All of a sudden she is getting it.  This will sure help make the Mayo trip possible!

Caleb wanted to get baptized in the creek on his birthday.  This was pretty cool because we don't suggest baptism to our boys, we think this is a personal decision a person needs to make when they are ready to make that statement on their own.

Anyway the pastor came out for lunch, a ride in Caleb's Toyota and the baptism.  After that he wanted to go to dinner in town at KFC and watch a movie.  Pretty good birthday.

The day before he took a nasty line in his pickup, showing off for a 21 year old girl in the passenger seat, and rolled it.  Pretty much the rite of passage thing I think.  He dented the roof but managed not to break any glass.  No body was hurt but the girl ended up in his lap.  His new nickname is "Yard-sale"  We will be adding tubing to accommodate his rather aggressive driving style.

He has also been experimenting with a walker to help him stay up longer and has been able to take about 12 steps before getting too whoozy.  Doesn't seem like much but that amount of progress is huge.

So we were sending Caleb to Mayo Clinic in November but that door was slammed in our face due to the avenues through which his insurance pays.  Oddly insurance has approved it, but Mayo will not take their money. I can put him on my work insurance next year, but we may have to ditch the insurance he has now and then we would not be able to afford the co-pays and deductibles for local doctor visits, so that will be a tough decision. Mayo will take him if we show up with about $40K cash, so at this point we are looking into more options and still fundraising for whatever opens up.

Please pray for Caleb to be encouraged right now and pray for wisdom for us.

Caleb has been stronger the last few days.  Has a bit more fight in him for some reason.  Maybe he'll just get better.

Got the idea from a guy over on pirate that did the same thing for somebody (I pretty much plagiarized his ad). I figured it would be a good way to put some of my dust farm to good use!
