Do those electric superchargers work?

Wondering if I could gain a little boost by putting a high rpm fan in my pipe that runs from the air flow sensor to the manifold?  Seen lots of them on ebay but wonder about their efficiency.  Can you switch them on and off or do they need to run all of the time?  How about fuel mileage?

I was wondering the same thing. I used to think I was the only guy who ever thought of that concept, then I quickly realized those things are all over ebay!    :down:

From what I read on another website that sells them for something like $300 bucks is that they are only for Wide Open Throttle, but can be adjusted to spool up before that. It did not specify if it was constantly running or not. It plugs inline with your throttle body. I have a feeling that if they are worth a crap more people would be using them.

they're junk.  don't buy 'em.  You'd be better off throwing you money in the paper shredder...

No, they are junk.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

That is what I figured. I have a book on turbos/superchargers and another on nitrous oxide and it appears you need a lot more air flow to be productive.  I had planned at one time to build a sand drag rig using the above books and found them to be very informative.

At best you can keep a turbo spooled up with an electric motor. That reduces or eliminates turbo lag w/o resorting to a tiny housing that limits your top end. My work is doing just that. No way would a battery last long enough to build actual boost.

Just route your intake into your cab and when you step on it, start blowing into your air filter with your mouth. You can help lower the atsmopheric pressure around the air filter and increase your horsepower!!
