Dont do business with [email protected].  i won a $147 bid for a 22re head.  Now he is no longer a registered ebay user.

I bought a set of headlights and as soon as the item shipped the seller unregistered. The lights were junk and I got screwed  :maddest: . I know how you feel. With ebay there are risks, sometimes you just get hosed. I still love ebay though.

The best way to protect yourself is not to send cash or money orders.  Only use a credit card or Paypall so you can challenge the payment.  I've been there myself.

I have sent money and lost it THREE times and all three paypal did their deal to find them at fault but because they close their account there is nothing they can do, I got screwed - period. The guys close their paypal accounts and email addy's and open new ones..

I agree Pay Pal is the best way to go.  If you feel that the seller is not being honest with you about shipping the item or the item is not as described, advise Pay Pal, they seem to be good at "convicing" :slap:  dead beat sellers to  :pokinit: or get of the pot.  Never use money orders or cash. :twocents:

Pay pal is not perfect but they are better than nothing.

I repeat - I use paypal only and I have been screwed 3 times, if they close their paypal account paypal can't do anything..

I've lost well over $100 :(

Sometimes you just get screwed. That is the assumed risk with ebay. You will have a ton of good transactions for every one or two bad ones. 99% of the people on ebay are honest and care about there feedback. Everything has it's pros and cons. You can save a lot of money and find some really cool stuff for cheap, but there is always the risk of getting taken. That is just how I see it. I have had really good luck and never got screwed so far, although I have come very close. :crossed:

Ditto, I always check feedback and pay with paypal.  I've done about 80 transactions and haven't been screwed yet, but have had some sketchy transactions.  You just hafta take a chance sometimes and hope that the people are trustworthy.
