Ive put a 22r in my truck and slapped all my EFI stuff onto it. I cant get the timing right.
I have to adjust the distributor almost all the way counter clockwise to get close to 5*. If I move the distributor a tooth then it is opposite, I have to adjust it all the way clockwise to get 5*.
The TPS is new. I was not to confident in adjusting it but after a lot of messing around I believe I got it in spec. The RPM's drop a little and timing changes when I jump the E1 and TE1, so does that verify that the TPS is good to go and I can forget about it??? I assume so, timing worked fine on the last motor that was in there.
Other than the distributor having to nearly be maxed out to get to 5*, the engine misses and the idle fluctuates up and down. My EFI was working great on the old motor and I even had my injectors reconditioned. I just want to make sure I check everything before I pull the timing cover.
