Smog concerns
« on: Sep 26, 2014, 11:10:40 AM »
Hi everybody I'm new here and I just got a 1st gen pickup with a fresh motor rebuild new cat but I had to use a Hedman that wasn't the ca legal one. I'm wondering if I'll pass emissions without the air injection manifold. Like I said everything else is fresh the only thing that's missing is the air injection maifold. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

No, CA smog laws now require headers to be CARB certified.

Correct, header needs to have the CARB number so the tech can input it into the system prior to running the test.

OP
It will be easier to just buy the CARB correct header, or swap on the oem system for the test.
