i need help with tail fuse blowing instantly
« on: Sep 27, 2013, 10:13:04 AM »
i recently was removing a dent in the bed of my truck and in the process i accidentally cut throught the entire left tail light wires, after putting the wires back together ive lost tail lights and running lights but i still have headlights, turn signals, brake, and reverse lights. even after disconnecting the rear wiring harness under the passenger seat i still have the same issue with the tail fuse blowing instantly. i want to add again that i cut through those wires with the battery still connected. any help is appreciated.

Maybe check further up the harness. When the blade cut the wires maybe it pulled the harness damaging it else where. I hade a similar issue when I landed hard off of a rock. Destroyed the tail light wiring but it some how put a cut in the wire about a foot away and it was shorting to the body.

I had a similair issue. The wire also was grounding out on the body..it onoy happened when i hit the brakes hard or was off roading...id assume the wire is just pressing against the body somewhefe.
