Chain to gear driven swap
« on: Oct 21, 2014, 09:08:51 PM »
I have a 90 4Runner that came with a chain driven transfer case.  I am getting ready to swap it out for a single gear driven case with the 4.70 gear and the V6 adapter plate.  What are the odds that I can do this without having to re-lengthen my drive shafts?  Has anyone done this exact thing?  What was your experience?

I've had ppl run it and be fine. My 2cents would be that you should have enough slip in the rear driveshaft to work.
