T100 build ?
« on: Jun 02, 2012, 05:01:35 AM »
I'm new to the Toy world, not to wheelin'.
I just bought a 96 T100 4x4 extended cab with the 3.4 and an automatic. The truck runs great, 4x4 works as it should. I am contemplating doing a SAS using a dana 44 out of an older Chevy.
One question I have is: Is the rear stock axle a good axle to build around?
I have a set of front leaves out of an 85 Yota pickup, I believe them to be aftermarket, slightly lifted. Do you think they will work on the front or should I find alternate spring packs?
What springs do you reccomend for the rear?
I am planning on 36-37 inch tires, selectable lockers, rock sliders, custom flat bed etc, etc.
Feel free to give me any advice or info you can, I have searched until my eyes hurt and can't find a whole lot of info on the T100.
Thanks,
dave

OK, I made a little progress, bed is built!

removable mudflaps  :beerchug:

I just got my passenger side knuckle back so now I'm thinking next week the T may make it's way into the garage and go under the knife.
I'll have to get a pic of the front hanger I built.
stay tuned.............

I am in the process of doing an SAS on my 96 T100. I am going dana 60's front and rear with 5.13 gears. I only when with a rear dana 60 because I got a killer deal for the set, otherwise I would have gone with a 14 bolt. I have a set and a half of 37x12.5 R16.5 Goodyear MT/R's that I am going to put under it. I bought a set of 5" custom spring form Atlas suspension for the rear. I also bought a set of spring for the front form Dave's Off Road Performance (7" of actual lift --- that's what spring I chose) but I am still waiting for them to be delivered.
