Topic: Tacoma power door lock guts...

I have a buddy, a local girl here who has an '04 double cab tacoma.  She needs a drivers side power door lock mechanism.

Price new is just stupid.  In fact she is just running a manual lock mechanism right now to get by.  We were hoping somebody doing a 3RZ or a 3.4 swap with a parts truck laying around would have mercy on her and hook her up with a good deal on a working lock.  I'm not sure what years we are looking at for parts interchangability but I would assume any later year 4runner or tacoma lock mechanism would do.

Anybody have one?

I will do a little more research on what will fit.  She is hoping to pay like $50 or less is you guys are willing to part with them for that price. They go for a bunch new but she just doesn't have much $$.  She got in through the passenger door for a month or so untill somebody got ahold of a free manual lock for her to get by...

I'll try to figure out if the '98 stuff will cross over and if you guys find out before me let me know.

I did some checking and it looks like we need parts from like a 2002-2004 tacoma or 4runner because there is a difference in part numbers from the late 90s stuff. Seems like they can be had aftermarket new for like $80 though so maybe she should go that route if they are any good.

i got acouple from 97-98 runner .. just need to cover for shipping.. but for $80 that s the best way to go
